For those who managed to stay awake, the Dallas Stars overcame a 3-6 deficit midway through the third period and beat the San Jose Sharks in OT 7-6.
Anytime you need to make a Herculean comeback to beat a bad team, there’s plenty to question.
Not questionable, however, is the play of Logan Stankoven and Wyatt Johnston.
Stanky drew two penalties, resulting in two power play goals (one of them his) that kept Dallas in the game early. Then he provided the apple for Roope Hintz’ game-winning OT goal.
Not to be outdone, Johnston tallied his first NHL hat trick and added a pair of helper.
I wanted to do a cartoon celebrating their youthful awesomeness - so my brain went straight to joyously surfing in shark-infested waters - including the standard “SURF’S UP!”
Except I spelled it “SURK’S UP!” and the hurriedly posted it on all the socials.
As the likes and reposts stated accumulating, I noticed the typo. I hate that some buddies (@DallasMocha) had reposted and now their timeline would have the “TWEET DELETED” (or whatever it says these days) message.
But, I also don’t want their friends to think they repost things from people who can’t spell .
Jumped back in and deleted and reposted with the typo corrected. As I’ve said many times - I need an editor.
Still like the cartoon however.
If you DID go to sleep before the game ended, I recommend the replay. Start it about the 8 minute mark in the third.
Also, I reposted a cartoon I’d done LAST season featuring Logan (this is why he doesn’t have a number), riffing on the “Logan” movie poster.
